Discount Tires

I'm not going to be a cheer leader for a company in a way that may become unfair to another but, this morning I got my Kumho Road Venture AT51 tires mounted at Discount Tire.

First off, the tires are a 55K mile rated AT tire and they are smooth and quiet. They replaced the BFG Rugged Terrain tires that I had bought 43K miles ago. They were 50K rated and getting very noisy so I changed them a couple thousand miles early as I have a state inspection coming in June anyway.

OK so about Discount Tire:

Clean, friendly, accommodating, best price, best service that I've ever had and I was out in 30 minutes!

P265-70-17 were priced at $608 OTD. I did get the "tire certificate" because he discounted the price of $74.00......$18.50 x 4 for lifetime replacement, no prorated value in the case of tire damage. So, my OTD price with the $25.00 discount was $647 and that included new valve stems and caps.

DT beat the club prices by over $100.00 with the tire certificate. If you have one close by and you've never used them, check them out, you may be surprised.

I get all my Tires at Discount Tire, find a cheaper price (good luck with that) and they will match it. Free Flat repair and I have 2 stores near me so I am Golden.
BTW The tire replacement no questions asked, guy lost a piece of concrete off his trailer and got my 2 right sides, cost me the price of the service contract on the 2 new tires

I wish we had one here. City of almost 300,000 people but no national tire stores. Just a few local ones.

Yes, it's hard to complain about Discount Tire although I have complained lately. Mostly about tire balancing. Eventually got the road force balance - that is not automatic in our area. Got the tires running a lot smoother. The original install was poor - two tires way overinflated and probably still not running as smooth as the other two.. Wheels were scratched and left dirty. They do run a bunch of kids around through the shop, so beware.

All said though, they try very hard to make customers happy. This last experience was the only bad one.

Be aware that in CA, Discount Tire is not the same as Discount in the other 49 states. Discount in CA is Americas Tire. Apparently a company trademarked Discount Tire prior.

I found this out the hard way when I bought a tire that failed while I was in AZ and went to the real Discount Tire for warranty.

I will never buy tires anywhere except Discount Tire/Americas Tire. They have excellent service, they price match and they have good products. I got $100s off my last tires because they didn't just match, but BEAT a competitors price and then got me a mail in rebate of $150.

Here in CA its America's Tire, yes the "certificate" is worth it. Once got a flat, drove to off ramp to change then to store for flat repair. They refused to repair since driving flat ruined the sidewall but I was within warranty parameters <500miles and 1 week of expiration they replaced with new tire, no pro-rating.

Also when they install use a wire brush on the hubs, tighten with a torque stick then follow up with a torque wrench. As a mechanic myself, I was impressed

I still meet customers there who have been referred to this location by corporate.....as a result of them to to this day, still complaining about the unscrupulous activities at the carson Ca store....

The Torrance Ca store is again, the bes!!!!!
