1st off good morning , Afternoon or evening depending on when you read this. So my crazy question is after removing the EGR has anybody heard of someone cleaning it just in case they have to re install it later or go to sell the truck? The reason I ask is because some people said that after they have re installed it that it was frozen up I don't want this to be a headache for someone else if I do to saw the truck I'd rather than be able to throw it back on and it function call it good karma. Thank you for all your advice and input.
Oil sample came back fuel in oil , two times now lots of slow traffic and regens . Injectors ok I believe, cylinder cut off test next weekend to make sure . Off it goes asap .
You are doing the next owner a service by removing it. I would just stick it on the shelf. The problem guys run into when going back to stock with the EGR valve is when they leave it on the truck after deleting and let the exhaust gas dead head into the electronically shutoff valve. If you are removing the cooler/valve combo from the truck or using block off plates, this usually isn’t a problem.

I'm intrigued. So, it can be harmful to keep the EGR is place if there's a chance it will be used again? Can that area be cleaned prior to replacing the EGR?

If you plan on ever putting the emissions back in place to operate, either fully remove the system off the truck OR install block off plates. The plates remove the EGR crossover tubes. This method allows you to keep the cooler/valve assembly on the truck. It just eliminated the exhaust gas from getting to the EGR valve.

Interesting. I am going to look into this. So those are the just the standard block off plates and you removed the piping that runs to the EGR. I am guessing that the longer plate is still in its packaging on a shelf somewhere.

There are different kits depending on what you want to do to your truck. One for only removing the crossover pipes, another for entire EGR removal and a flow through plate if you would like the coolant flow like the EGR was still in place. At least that is how I understand it.

This is a block off plate kit. Not a full EGR delete kit. Dirthawg posted links to the different kits. The blocker plate kit will have 4 plates. Two for the inlet and outlet on the cooler, one for the intake manifold, and one for the exhaust manifold. A full EGR delete will come with 2 plates and the bigger plate that allows removal of the cooler.

Here is a shot of my truck with blocker plates. They allow the cooler to stay on the truck.
I am looking at this alternative can you provide more details about your experience please? Vehicle miles before and since? Where did you learn of this? How did the work go? How is access to the other pipes 2 ports? Ect thanks man.
Morning gentlemen recently acquired a new to me 2017 6.7 w 42k that I am looking to dpf delete egr disable and this is the first info I have found on this method any additional info would be much appreciated. I plan to do ez link w ppei tune and mbrp pipe. https://performancetruckproducts.com...-6-7l-2017-19/
The truck already has s&b intake (and a afe scorcher HD tuner which I plan to remove).
My previous experience was a 2010 6.4 I got.with 115k that I immediately dpf deleted and did nothing with the egr no issues for the 30k miles I accumulated in 4yrs.
That era of programming required all sensors to remain plugged in. My understanding of the 2017 / 6.7 is that all sensors can be removed/unplugged after tune...is this true? Do you have a source I can educate myself?
