1979 engine swap

Hey guys. I have a 1979 bronco and I’m wondering if anyone has installed an engine from a newer ford truck. Was thinking of buying a complete motor from a wrecked 2019 truck. If so, how was the fit, and what modifications had to be done? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Coffey,
With a project like this, it's going to be 100% custom work, as they were never intended to go together. Custom mounts, custom electronics, custom everything.
You'd need to include the transmission and transfer case (if you were to keep it 4x4), and then probably the whole drivetrain and axles to mesh with it.
It can be done, but you're looking at spending a lot of time, effort, and money.

However, if you do go forward with it, keep us posted. Sounds like a very cool project.
