You will need to use the PS truck's wiring inside the cab, at least the part behind the dash for sure. If the interiors are the same color, I would swap the entire dash with wiring and all from the PS truck to the F150 cab.
Well that mean not using the f150 cab. it is technically illegal to put the f350 vin onto the f150 cab
Actually no it isn't. When our techs replace cracked dashes here at the dealership, they remove the original VIN tag and rivet it back onto the new dash. I did the same when I changed interiors on my '84 CRX from blue to black...

Completely different. You are NOT transferring the vin to another vehicle

This is a felony. I hope you used the correct rosette rivets on the tag, because if a cop even glances at the tag and sees non-rosette rivets, it's jail-time for you.
Just selling rosette rivets is illegal in many states for this reason.
Most states have paperwork to do it legally. In some cases both titles essentially get bonded together and the state may issue their own VIN
As far as swapping vin plates at a dealer, Well Ford actually will sell you a brand new cab for their trucks ( current model years ) which will not have a Vin on it. ... OBS trucks have the VIN on the door frame, the emissions sticker, the dash and also a partial VIN on the right frame rail
You could always call your states dmv and ask if there is a proper method they accept.
I've seen this question come up alot, more frequently on the older mustang sites. Really depends on the state. Some don't seem to care, some make you get an inspection by a state trooper or certified shop.
