Koer code 18

A month ago I pulled my truck into discount had them to do a code scan on it and it came up with key on engine running code18 so I took it to the mechanic, mechanic said it was the brain I replaced a brain but now it's still doing the same thing sounds like it's missing but it only does it after I've been driving the truck for about 30 minutes to an hourwhen is cold it doesn't do anything it drives great but as soon as it starts warming up like I said an hour or 30 minutes to an hour it'll start acting funny but it only does it when I'm at cruising speed at a steady speed of like 45 ,60 whatever I'm at but on takeoff and idling it does fine doesn't do it. the things I've replaced on this truck where the brain did the whole tune up coil and all spark plugs wires all the everything it needs for the tune up and then I replace the ICM and some of the other components on top of the engine the solenoids for the emissions stuff and so on I'm at a loss the only thing that I haven't replace was the distributor and some other components but you know I'm hoping It isnt the distributor because I don't know how to do that one

What year?, engine? tranny? do you have ?

(Disconnect connectors at the EECM, Coil & the Ignition Module)

You should check the continuity and resistance on the Tan/Yellow stripe wire coming from your Ignition Module to your EECM. Check the wires both directions for a short to ground.
There is also a 22K resister in-line in the circuit. This resistor inside of the wiring harness may have failed.

The T/Y wire travels through the connector next to the engine compartment fuse box, I suggest you disconnect, clean, test and reconnect.
(after troubleshooting is complete, refill connector with dielectric grease)

Check and clean the connector to the Ignition Module.
Check and clean the coil connections.
Also check and clean your SpOut Connector, check the wires both directions for a short to ground.

Okay from the coil to the ICM ignition control module I have continuity but from the ignition control module to the brain I have resistance under 25 think of is 21.4 I think that's what it was

okay question unwrapped bunch of the wires that are in that cluster right there by the PCM and I found a aluminum foil wrapping with a bare wire inside that rapping and it doesn't look like it connects to anything on the top or the wiring harness now is it supposed to be? And when where can I find the ground wire that would connect to the spout and all that other good stuff

the wire connecting to the aluminum shield should be grounded. you can connect it to the closest ground you can find.

Check that the shield is not cutting through the wires running through it.

The bare wire is only grounded at one end for ground and that ground point is inside the distributor.
If it was grounded at both ends it would be an conductor and not a shield.

There is no ground wire to the spout.
Look for the Pink wire next to the fender in front/forward of the Ignition Module. ("SPOUT CHECK CONNECTOR" in drawing)

Ok, I assumed you were saying the Shield was no longer grounded.
So, check continuity of the Shield to Ground, if it is good, then do nothing.....

how would I go about doing that again and now can I just run my test wires to that wire and then test it to a ground or hot how would I check it for continuity and make sure this got a ground right there on that wire
