Currently I use a 8' Boss straight blade super-duty series with the smart hitch 2 and recently upgraded to the SL3 LED lights. I am going to order a 2020 F350 next year and would like to hear some different opinions of the type of plow that you run.
The Boss has been great over the last 8 years and only had to replace the plow power cable on the truck side and a cutting blade. My 2011 F250 handles it well and out performs my friend's Dodge Ram with a Myers setup.
All my jobs are paved commercial properties and no salting.
I ran a Western Pro Plus 8 1/2' on my 2008 F-350 for a few years and just recently went to the Western Wide-Out. 8' - 10' expandable wing plow. Have ran it the last two winters and I have to say for parking lots, its superior to any plow out there.
I do some tighter residential driveways where bringing it down to 8' is beneficial.
I put a Western Wide Out on my truck last year. Previously had a Western 8' Pro. I have had very good luck with Western plows so far. Also, I really like the newer Ultra Mount system, fast and easy hook and unhook.
Using a Western MVP 8.5’ with wings for ten years. My advice is don’t get another straight blade - v plows are worth the additional cost. Much more efficient and better at stacking/moving piles
ksmach1, Like that "dolly" to roll your plow on, is it something you rigged up or a moving dolly of some kind, I need something similar, it sucks to muscle the plow around on the garage floor...…………..
Same here. Still rocking a fisher straight blade. Ten years old, MM2, I take care of it and keep it looking new. Will absolutely go to an 8' 6" Stainless XV2 on my next truck though, no question. Fisher has, in my opinion, the best mounting system and the least invasive push plates. Plus it's New England, gotta rep the local company!
I have a 8' Western Pro Plus....just for my driveway. I love how fast and easy it is to put on and take off. The dolly I made, makes it easy to roll around the garage. Hard to see the low profile wheels in the pic, but they are there.
8.6 Fisher XD2 straight blade for me. I traded my 2nd to last p/u in with a 8.6 Xtreme V for the 15 CCSB with the straight blade. Just transferred it to the '!8 as couldn't warrant the expense of a new plow.
I feel like the v plow did a better job & the only thing I can attribute it to is as the pins wore it allowed the 2 sections to contact driveways with crowns better. Most of mine have crowns, as they should. I guess I can buy a softer cutting edge to conform to them for the Fisher but haven't.
I really liked the Vplow for storms with heavy snow as in the v mode it didn't matter. With this straight blade you need to keep up with the storm if there's wet snow. As far as the scoop mode goes I still always had tailings so it didn't save me any time. It did allow to stack higher though.
If I were to buy another I guess it would be a Fisher V though.
Always Fisher for me too. Never even considered anything else.
I'm sick of snow, just got a couple more inches. UrrghF.....

I had a hard time convincing the shop I bought my plow to put a western 7.5 on a crew cab long bed. I only do my driveway and a couple of friends so the narrower plow is a lot easier to maneuver in the driveways.
My previous 99 CCLB had the 9 foot on it and it was tough getting out of driveways without taking the mailboxes with me.
Matt, I like the concept of the wide-out. None of the guys I plow with has a wide-out, some run the pro plus. I like Western and its a posibility for the 2020 F350. Thanks for the input.

I got it at a local plow supply store but I have seen them online. It does make life easy when I need to move it around in the off season
