I just picked up this 64 over the weekend and still getting familiar. A lot of scraping happening in the rear
around town, won’t make it in the driveway. would like to raise the rear another couple inches (1-2”).
Equipped with air bags in the back, what are my options?
A) removing the rear bumper
B) 1-2” spacers? (+ replace shocks for longer shocks?)
C)
Full height in rear rear-end laying bumper Rear-end detail
Anybody else have serious reservations about the welding shown??

Yes! I was getting ready to type something similar until I read your post.
I believe that air bag set up is going to be a do over in the end. The pinion angle looks all wrong and if you add spacers to the bags it will get even worse. If it were mine I would disconnect the shocks and bags and jack the body up to where I wanted it and commence re-engineering it. Also there are better looking ways to run air to those bags than house plumbing.
Agreed. Low air/ scraping the ground is the least of the problems here. I'm wondering what those massive flat washers are hiding on the upper links. The welds on everything look suspect and the copper pipe plumbing is primo. I'd seriously hesitate to take this out of the driveway personally. Cool idea, poor execution.
I assume that the entire chassis was replaced, and the front has air bags too? Does the chassis sit level aired up? If so, the cab and bed mounts may have to be shimmed or relocated. Hard to tell from the pictures. Cool truck.
