Hi all, Is there a way to use a scanner to recalibrate the speedometer for larger tires? I used a Snap-on Verus scanner to recalibrate a 2006 Ram but I couldn't figure out how to do it in the Powerstroke. I have been driving the truck on 22s since the truck had 25k miles or so. I hadn't thought how it affects the shift points and I am not sure if the clock shows less or more actual miles. When the speedometer shows 60, I am actually going closer to 70.
I 've read that most dealers don't have a clue about how to reset them or are not interested. More important than that to most of us, we do not want to deal with dealer service. As an aside, I recently took the Ram to a dealer after trying to fix an O2 sensor code for a long time and they quoted me $1,600 to look into it with a specific caveat that that was just a start- no guarantee it would be fixed. Yes, I can understand the rationale for that but decided to take another look myself This time, I found the problem and fixed it within an hour. Just saying...
But back on the recalibration issue, would appreciate some help in fixing it.
Thank you.
Thanks, ACAMSI will look into the Forscan. I don't know anything about it. I see is available on Amazon for $30, which would be a small price to pay if it can be made to do the speedometer calibration. Has anyone used it to do this"
Thanks
