who is getting over 15 mpg's and how?
Brand new 10k mile bullet proof 6.0 all stock 1 exception. I have SCT X3 that doesn't work. Says needs update. Stuck on performance (i think).
Thanks for chiming in. 04 ROUGH COUNTRY 3inch and F-250 pro comp rear leafs.
Totally stock everything 2005 F-350 Crew cab short bed 4x4. In the Summer I get 20-21 mpg Hwy calculated, 14.5 around town calculated, and 16.5 mixed. In the winter with winter fuel, winter tires, and winter idling I get 14-15 Hwy, 12.0 around town, and 13.25 mixed also all calculated. Russ
From the picture and description you've done just about everything to the truck you can not to get more mpg. I could get 18 to 20 empty all day long on the highway with good traffic and not going over 70 mph with my 2005 totally stock Lariet F-250 CC. 16 to 17 under the same conditions with my 2015 F-350 6.7.
Forgot to mention, i live at 9000 ft. above sea level. Most of my highway miles are around 6500 ft. above sea level. I know this decreases hp in gas motors by 20% as the O2 levels are less up here.
I have an 05 Excursion, 8” lift in front 6” in back, soon to be 7” lift in back. 35x12.50r20 tires, Toyo AT2 Extremes right now. EGR is deleted, stock turbo and pretty much everything else. Running Innovative Diesel Extreme Street Tune. I average between 16-17mpg commuting 70% highway, speeds from 70-75. When traveling back from Ohio and speeds almost constant 75 I can sometimes average 18mpg. All mileage is hand calculated.
Just wondering, why’d you go back to the pre-05 headlights and grill?
So mine is similar to your truck, but I don’t have that big bumper up front with the bull bar.
I averaged 17.5 mpg over the past 45k miles. I track every fill and calculate the mpg. Most of the miles were driving the van fully loaded with camping equipment, solar panels and a large Thule cargo box on the roof. We drove over 10,000-foot mountain passes. I traveled at the legally posted speed which sometimes was as high as 80 mph! The van has 3.55 rear end. It's basically a box on wheels and was not made for fuel economy.
I run with the ScanGauge II connected and never trust the MPGs as they are always higher than what I calculate. Sometimes the gauge says I am getting 24 mpg! It's usually off by 1-2 mpgs.
Chetspencer, is that a monitor specifically for torque or is it displaying on your radiovia video feed? That's sweet!
It's a app on my Pumpkin Head Unit. BTW I hit 21.3 MPG this morning. I haven't reset the MPG gauge for several months now so this is daily driver MPG's

So, the 21.3 is not hand calculated?
Have you done any hand calculating to see how accurate the computer is?
