I installed my ProClip dash mount today. Currently using it for my mic clip but will be mounting a tablet to it once I find a holder I like.
Literally installed in seconds. It has double sided tape in a few spots, but I did not utilize it. It is a “friction” type mount. It grabs an edge up near the windshield and snaps into the AC vent. Once in place it is very sturdy and doesn’t move around. You can get one for either side of the radio.
I’ve got the Proclip for my cell phone that mounts similar to what you have, but to the left of the stereo. Love the idea of putting the mic there. I’ve been searching for a better solution for my ham radio. Might have to move my cell and put my mic there. Great tip!
I use mine to mount my Garmin GPS. It is a little awkward for me to see at times, but my wife can easily reach it to enter destinations, etc. while I'm driving.
I like it. I may get another to put on the left side to mount my rear view camera. I also have the mount that fits in the recessed area in the center of the dash.
Can't remember the name of it right now. I currently have a RAM mount ball and 6" extension to mount my cell phone. I tow a 5th wheel trailer on a regular
basis and having GPS, rear view camera, and cell phone connected, is very helpful.
