I think for right now my plan is to buy the turbo reseal kit and new pedestal orings from dieselorings. Have someone in the metromess rebalance the turbo for me and go from there. If anyone knows of someone who could balance this thing in the ft. worth area let me know.
I am pretty sure there is not a re-balance need for the turbo unless you are talking about something custom. It is a "take it apart and put it back together" process.
One more thing comes to mind.
If the CCV is plugged or kinked, crankcase pressure will blow oil past the seal in the turbo. They usually will seal again when the vent is cleared.

Ive heard mixed commentary on this. Some say it's needed after a rebuild/reseal and some say its not. Figured I'd just go ahead and do it just to be safe. If it's not needed then I wont do it.

I did install a CCV redirect via rubber hose down the frame rail right before test firing. Didn't look kinked. In fact at one point as it was idling I shined a flashlight over the end of the ccv hose and witnessed a steady light haze coming out. Looked just like every other 7.3 I've seen with a ccv mod.
Somehow I missed that you resealed all the injectors in your original post. I'm not sure how you evacuated all the oil and fuel from the cylinders. It is normal that anywhere from an ounce to a quart can get pushed out of the exhaust. Did you hot torque the injectors? I highly recommend doing so. Other than that, drive it for a half hour or so to get that oil burned out.

Didnt have a way to vacuum out the cylinders so I spun the engine over by hand several times to push any oil out the glow plug holes. Just got back from a 25 mile drive. Drove it like a scalded dog. White smoke for 5-7 miles and then it slowly cleared all the way up. Checked under the hood several times and everything that was wet and coated in oil is now burned off and dry. I'll give the engine a bath in the morning and take it on the same loop just be sure. As for know its seems good.
Degreased the engine and took it for another 25 mile and ride a no problems (knock on wood). I did discover a small oil leak up front though. I have no idea what is called. Ill do my best to explain. Imagine you are looking down on the engine. If you look to the right of the fuel bowl and hpop and below the hpop lines down in the engine block there is a 3/8 drive round plug that sits next to the front cover. It is to the best of my knowledge some kind of oil pressure release. On the diagram it shows a spring and check ball below this plug. Anyways when idling or driving it will leak oil around this plug and run into the valley of the engine. Leak is very small. It's not spewing oil. Tried tightening it to no avail. Went to ford and bough new orings for it today. Anybody have any idea what this piece is called and wether or not oil is going to come gushing out when I remove it? Thanks.
