They work good, for the initial reef 'em down use some erl or something, it's a crush type fit and then it is semi-permanent and the fitting won't get lost. They are kind of a PITA to adjust vacuum advance, but overall it works good and looks clean, they don't leak. Took me a while to find them %#'@!! things too!
The original steel line on the 292 looked like it had been used as a coathanger numerous times to unlock the doors, rubber splices, etc. In the interim, the fittings naturally went missing eventually. Y-blocks used that style of distributor for just a few years. Stainless vacuum line would look good, but it is trickier to get a good flare I bet. When I found a good vac advance can to use, I couldn't locate that goofy connecting hardware. Only took 20 years!
