I am currently trying to install a 5.4L from a 1998 Navigator into my dad's 1955 Crown Victoria. We have the complete 5.4L Nav and currently removed the engine harness and 4r100 trans. The 4r100 trans WILL NOT FIT and will have to find a 4r70w from a 5.4L pickup. We have test fitted a 4r70w from a Crown Vic and it fits perfect. My issues are the PCM. I currently have a EEC-V from a 2000 F-150 5.4L that came with a 4r70w (TR code U) however the truck was severely damaged on left front and trans was no good. Are there any differences in the pinout from the 98 NAV to the 00 F-150. I will be making my own harness from the NAV but need a pinout for both years to do so. If someone could assist in helping me find the pinouts that would be great.
The navi computer wont run any trans but the navi trans.....The navi is doch and the f150 is soch......The f150 computer will run the navi motor but not to its full potential without a custom tune and youll have to have PATS deleted....Youll either have to make the navi trans fit and use it or use the f150 computer and use a 4r70w
Hmm i know for sure 99-04 is doch. as i did tons of research looking into using an 04 navi in my 99 f150 and it was a 4.6 and i learned the 4.6 computer would run the navi doch 5.4. Also i know for sure the 99-04 navi engine harness will plug into the firewall plug and run on the f150 computer just tune and pats delete is recommended......you can also use the f150 engine harness if you extend a couple of sensor wires.....cant remember which ones they were but you would find out when you went to plug them in lol. 98 should be no different considering the 99-04s work especially if its a sohc.....infact you may get off easier since your swapping a 5.4 for a 5.4 where i was swapping a 4.6 for a 5.4
