One thing that caught my attention was how the Ford F-150 bounced off instead of running into it based on the shape of the front end. Pretty good way to minimize damage.

It seem that those crash bars in front of and behind the front wheels helped to deflect the energy away from the structure of the cab and push the truck to the side.

Too new, I'm sure of that. They did test it later on and it didn't fare as well as Ford F-150.
