Thanks again, Now I am really convinced this cab on this truck is not original. I will be looking for these options to stick on. Wanted them anyway and knowing it originally came with it is cool!
Looks like them two holes just under vent wing are left from the type 9 mirrors, likely lower mount holes (2) will be about where the current mirrors mount.

Why do you think not original cab?
Im thinking the holes are too far apart for the type 9 mirrors at the top mounting point. As for your question why I don't think the cab is the original, is because the Marti report says it came with rocker panel moldings and there are no mounting points or holes of any kind for moldings. The paint on the cab is all original so no work has been done to cover up mounting points. As well, the Marti says, it has the visibility package and there is no lighting at all except a dome light. The cab is red and that is the only thing that is correct along with the seat as well. It also came with a sliding back window, but there is a solid one in place now. Knowing that it could have been changed, there are too many other things that are not original. The guy I got the truck from, has a number of trucks and has been known to mix and match to make up a good running truck to sell off. Im thinking this is what has happened here.
I just measured type 9 holes, top two are about 2-5/8" apart and lower two about 2" apart, 7" from top two center line down door to lower two center line, mirror arm is just about even with front edge of vent wing/window frame or track. On the type 9, the upper mount has a spring loaded pivot to hold mirror arm loop out 90 degrees to body side, but allows it to be pushed back if like hits a tree, etc.

Hope it helps.
That is excellent info, thank you for the measurements, it will help when I go to do the bodywork and paint. The doors on this one are not bad, compared to some and each one has about a 2 inch spot on the bottom seem that needs work. The guy I got the truck from said, he has both yellow doors off the same truck, the box on this one came from. They are originally from Texas and they are perfect! so I will be using them and hope the hopes, are the type 9 already.

For what year? There are SEVEN different types of TYPE 9's for F100/350's
I know that D4TZ-17696-A has different measurements than D6TZ-17696-A .. The other 5 mirror specs are not listed in the parts catalog.

It almost looks like finding a good used set is the only way to get a 6x9 mirror that the 1979 had. Bronco grave yard only has the 5 1/4 x 8 1/4 mirror and the span is 7 1/8, so ether way, the arm would have to be bent if the other doors Im getting had the type 9 bold holes already. Both the D4TZ and D6TZ are on each side of this measurement.
Have any of you bought the Bronco Grave yard type 9 mirror and if so, what quality was it?
Good luck finding a good used OEM set of type 9's, that are CHEAP.
ND this still correct info?
