Electrical connector headlight

I am trying to wire up newly installed fog lights in the wife's Excursion to a new factory switch that has the fog light option. I have a couple questions:

1.) How do you get the pins out of the connector? I was able to get the orange lock released but can't seem to get the pin to release.

The fog light kit came with a wire harness that has a relay, fuse, red & black wires for hookup to battery positive and negative. There is a white wire that runs from the relay into the cab to their switch that I am wanting to do away with and make a connection to the new factory headlight switch with fog light option. There is another red and black wire coming from their switch. In looking at the diagram at the bottom right of page 3 of the .pdf it shows pin #2 blk/wht for Fog Lamps, pin #5 ye for Fog Lamps, and pin #6 bk Fog Lamp Indicator Ground. It does not make delineation about pin #2 and pin #5.

2.) So I am wondering if the white wire from the kit would go into pin #2, the red wire into pin #5, and the black wire into pin #6?
3.) Also wondering if the black wire that goes into pin #6 could be grounded elsewhere?
4.) Would I still need to do the modification to allow the fog lights to stay on with the high beam headlights?
