Just joined to try and figure this out please help.i have a 1996 ford f250 2wd 3/4 ton with a 460 216k miles.i had no compression on #5 cylinder.i found a motor out of a ford e350 rv difference is the rv motor has smog pump but my truck does not but my truck has a crank pos. Sensor, also motor mounts are different.

Reason: Mispelling
Smog pump can be bypassed it really isn't that useful anyways. If your motor mounts on your old motor can bolt up to your new motor you are good to go otherwise you'll have to do some fabrication but I dont think you should have a problem just swapping mounts
Strip the donor motor bare of all wiring, accessories and brackets and put everything from your truck on it including the crank balancer and misfire sensor.
Just did similar with a 1992 F250 with an engine out of a 1992 E350, like Conanski said, strip it like that. Take your time, Photo everything, note everything with masking tape on where it goes. Take the chance to replace vacuum lines while noting where they belong. Make sure you take notes on everything. You will want an engine balancer to line it all back together and a friend to help get it in, you will have more play on transmission line up than I did, so you luck out some there.
Thanks for the quick responces i hope it works.i got all the money i had into it.gonna put a new water pump and maybe a harmonic balancer into it, the van motor only had 30k miles on it .wish me luck.
Do i also need to take the timing cover off and put on the new motor since it has the tabs for the crank pos. Sensor? Do i need to remove the oil pan to do this?
i would do as the previous posters mentioned strip all the accessories off the old engine and transfer everything to the new engine. if that means the timing cover then yes that also. your goal is to pretty much turn your new engine into what the old one was.
Does anybody know the difference between the f250 auto trans and the e 350 rv trans ? My throttle body only has linkage for the throttle but not the trans kickdown cable, did the e 350 come with a different trans?
Are you thinking of changing the transmissions now too? What is the trans code on your drivers door pillar? The 2 trannys available would be the C6 and e4od and they are not interchangable, one is all mechanical and the other is computer controlled.
looks like the truck i am working on has an E code on the door tag and rear end is a C5 the other tranny i bought is the 20 bolt tranny that i think is electronic controlled.
