Recently, some low life tried to steal my 99 F350 2wd XLT Dually, with a V10 and 5 speed. He was unsuccessful, but during his failed attempt, he bent my factory steering wheel badly, trying to remove the steering wheel club. I am considering fixing the damage myself, hoping I can do it for less $$$$ than my insurance deductable. I found a 2005 F250 XLT in a wrecking yard, about 50 miles away, like my truck, it has a black plastic steering wheel, with cruise control buttons in the wheel, but their interchange program does not include steering wheels. This steering wheel does look similar, but does anybody know for sure if it is the same as per fitment? Also, anybody know if a steering wheel from any other years will work, maybe even from a F150 or Econoline van? Thanks.
Yes the wheel from the 05 will fit. As long as it has the same cruise configuration that you do everything will work just like before. For Super duty trucks 99-07 will work for f-150 and expedition 97-03 and for vans up to 08 for sure. I don’t know how much futher that goes but looks like to current models as they don’t refresh the vans that often or where it starts exactly for that matter but I think somewhere in the early to mid 2000’s, but the vans aren’t really my wheel house but our 08 e250 has the same style wheel as my truck. I’ve swapped both the wheels in both my 250’s for leather ones from the rubber xlt wheel.
