I will say that the carpet didn't lay as well as I wanted... it seemed to me like it was stiff and didn't mould or lay down as good as I hoped. But once down I don't notice it at all. If I remember correctly (it was 10yrs ago) it had a waxy backing and I thought at the time maybe some heat might soften it a bit to lay better. I'm not a carpet layer so maybe I could have trimmed it better or something...
But honestly it's fine unless you're super picky lol... if you look into my truck you wouldn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
So I got thinking about my carpet installation and decided to Google it... LMC actually has a video and they state that the carpet is stiff at first but over time will settle. They also say not to use a heat gun lol...
I know since you are asking about carpet you want to probably preserve that classic look and feel. But I spray lined my floor-pan and I will do it to every truck I own. It's so convenient and so easy to clean out. Even compared to the vinyl that was in it before it's so much better.
