trailer tow prep wiring

trailer tow prep wiring
I just picked up a 2018 ecosport and on the window sticker it says
"trailer tow prep wiring"
I have purchased a hitch and now need some lights
I have found a 4 pin connector (not trailer connector) plugged off under the driver side of the rear bumper
I tested with my voltmeter and there does not seem to be any power there with lights/blinkers on
it most certainly does trace back to the tail light harness though
I'm pretty sure I need a convertor for the brake/turn lights.
and yes the ecosport is rated to tow 2k lbs, I just want to move my riding mower on a 5x8 trailer. sa

Did you ever find a solution? I recently bought a Ford ecosport and I'm having the same trouble. Dealerships are not helpful.

Nope
I wound up using a generic adapter, Hopkins I think, with a convertor for the turn signals.
