ok, what are the differences in these two intake set ups? pros/cons? anyone have any experience with either one? i can get the mac for about 150 new, and the airaid for 110 used. which way would you go, or would you go a different route?
Personally, I'd go with the MAC Air Intake over the Airaid. I've never heard of anyone even running an Airaid intake, but I've seen proven results of a MAC bolting up about 7 - 8 hp's. Not bad for an intake IMO.
cool, i guess ill go that route then. it looks like it is the same type of setup. i wonder if i will be able to put a larger cone filter on there. do you think that would harm anything?
When you floor it has a very nice sound, like a 4 barrel carb opening up. Really nice. No hissing sound with mine. I got good gains from mid-throttle to high rpm, especially just prior to the 1-2 and 2-3 shift points where the torque used to flatten out.
I plan on getting one myself. You have one, or you just tested one? That and the chip are what I have my sights set on getting in the near future! I posted a new topic in the chips forum about it.
I have an Airaid and love it. It look good, it sounds good, it's compact, and I could definetely feel a power increase. I couldn't run the Nitrous without the intake.
View my gallery for engine pictures, you'll be suprised how nice the Airaid looks.
