New Toys

So, here's my story of the week.
We've been having some issues with the service at the RV Dealership, that we bought from. So much so, that for the past 5 months we've been dealing directly with the GM of the "Big dealership". (BTW no not a CW). He has been very accommodating to us since I had to start working with him. but there have been bumps here and there, (people leaving, people being promoted) and we get lost in the shuffle again. In the meantime trying to get warranty work completed, and being pushed around, the DW decided we should look at 5th wheels with decks (basically a toy-hauler). well, she ended up finding one she loved and the floor plan is perfect and 2 patios to boot! (one for her and kids one for me and dogs) (Jayco Seismic 4113 if you want to know). Guess what a 45' trailer with 20,000 lbs, and a 3970 Pin dry pin weight. my little 2017 F350 SRW CCSB just wasn't going to cut it, I'm in dually range. So off to the Car Dealer I go. I know my dealer pricing I have gotten (been going there for years now) and my Under Invoice pricing was known, but trade value wasn't. they had a nice one in stock but it was Stone Grey, I said not a fan of that color would prefer my Blue Jean. but they coaxed me into taking it over the weekend. As I figured the DW disliked it more than I did. so I knew Monday morning we would be taking it back. With a phone call to the dealer, I said I would be there Monday night to lock in my Rebates and PCO's and have my special order ready to go. When I get there, the sales manager (the only one there I work with) says. I cannot lock your PCO's. (I'm like yea right you just don't know how). I have 2-350 limited down there can you just look, I will make it worthwhile. I entertained him, and said sure. Both had that UGLY Camelback interior (I know there are people who like brown but I am not one of them). So, we were walking around their 20 Super duties on the lot. and I go. Oh a Magnetic one. that looks nice. Get closer and go that's an F450 Platinum. Call up the Sales Mgr and say give me your best on that and I will be up to talk numbers. Long story shortened. A HUGE number for my trade in and a big number under invoice, and I have a 2019 F450 Platinum truck in my driveway. and the DW says it drive better than the F350 Both SRW and the DRW we had over the weekend test-driving. BTW Side note hear, Dang she looks better driving it than I do! What is it with "Chicks who drive trucks!"
Anyway-Heres the mods ordered/scheduled
Headrest DVD Players ordered Arrive tomorrow I will install this weekend
25,000 lb 5th Wheel Hitch Arrives tomorrow I will install this weekend
Undercoating/Linex Bedliner/Access Cover - Scheduled for Monday.
3 stage paint correction and Ceramic Coating Schedule for April 2nd (PS If you're in Iowa and need this done, its my buddy that Ive know for 25+ years that does it)

5th Wheel Toy-hauler will have the paperwork signed tonight.

A very expensive week here, but cannot wait for camping season!
Here's a pic of the new truck!

Beautiful truck and you shouldn't have any problems towing that big Jayco. My Jayco has been a great trailer. Best of luck with the new Jayco and hopefully it was built on a Monday! You should look into the Jayco Owners Forum, its an active forum with lots of useful info.

Drove thru Houston (San Antonio- Channelview and back) yesterday, picked up a enclosed cargo trailer for the business. YEA Houston traffic, wrecks, wreck and more wrecks in the middle of the day...

Oh my. Several replies, and I haven't been around to answer. Sorry Life moves too fast!
We have only had the trailer out once this year so far. Ugh. and that was just to get everything put away where it belongs.

DHALL2276
I purchased the Autotain Headrest. I used to install 12V electronics before it became "factory" IE DVD Players/Remote Starts/ Car Alarms. and while I will say yes the near factory stuff looks great, and works well, after spending what I did I still cannot justify spending $1500 for something that $300 will do, and match close enough that 97% of the people will barely notice. They work well, have only found a few DVDs that don't work in them, and if you buy the nice headphones the kids don't complain about the headphones. it took me about 2 hours to install, and I just ran power to the fuse tap, and tapped into the fuse box. easy peasy.

PHX Raven - I have attached a picture of the payload sticker

Joe T - Yes DW is Dear Wife. but if you find a Domesticated Woman, you better do everything you can to keep her! LOL LOL (it's a joke people don't get offended)

It's very nice to drive. I don't want to say "It feels like nothing is back there" because obviously you know it, but I can say that with this truck and even a heavier trailer, its smoother, and easier to pull than my old setup and I didn't feel the old one was bad considering I went to Iowa to Yellowstone and back last year with no issues. But this one is much easier. I figured if a semi can get through traffic I can too. I'm not any bigger than them. Just have learned to take my time and give myself plenty of room.

Here is the day we picked the new trailer up, and the 2 sitting next to each-other in the driveway.

Day we picked it up. Sags a little, but kind of expect that with a front heavy toy hauler and nothing in it at the time. It's not so bad

It fits in its area, that its supposed to be. BTW when we picked this house we made sure we were not in an HOA!
