Another oil thread
Has anyone seen the YouTube test super tech full synthetic vs redline full synthetic?
if so, is the test shown typical of testing technics?
I use Mobil 1 and have for years, makes me wonder if we're paying for good advertising.

I will add that with the API SN requirement the gap between oils has dramatically changed the field. Even base Supertech oils have to perform better then the Synthetic oils of the old SM. It's hard to really pick a better oil, just base it on OE requirements and price ultimately.

I watched it, I have watched many, many of the PF's videos...he seems to be on top of the things he tests. It appears like Supertech oil is a good product. That being said, I sleep better nights knowing that I have Pennzoil Platinum in my crankcase's.

Supertech is more than good oil. It is REALLY good. I have used it in my 7.3 for years and have UOAs under severe service to prove it. It is manufactured by Warren and used in heavy equipment by many ranches and farms.

Better to be safe than sorry
In my experience that if you spend money on good oil you won't regret it. I use castrol full synthetic 5w30 and a good filter for full synthetic oil and have never regretted it but I only have 237k on my v10 ford so I can't speak for everyone just from my own motors that I've used it on. Good luck

Another part to remember is does x number of dollars on oil provide x number of dollars more protection? No it does not. Go with a good known oil like supertech or a tractor supply and call it a day.
