Some motorcycle folks use a sealer to make spoked wheels tubeless - now, they don't generally inflate said tires to 55psi, but we're probably not looking at the same kind of hole either.
Then there's the concern that the problem could be structural as well as a leak. Different ball game if that's the case.

I thought about it but when no one would even repair them I decided it was too risky to use them. Thanks for the idea though.

Simichrome, we use it at work( semiconductor fab) to clean aluminum. I use it for my wheels, motorcycle, anything like that. Just a dab is needed go a long way.
