What is this?

Hi,

Does anybody know whaty the little square on the dashboard is? This is on a DOdge GC, but I think that I've seen them on other brands. I thought that I saw something about a mount ( if you pry it up), but that was a while back.

It's a gear selector override in case it gets stuck in park, I suppose if you're ib a hill and you don't set the brake.
