I have a 2008 F250, about 2 weeks ago I noticed my stereo amp would lose power, then come on again... but the stereo stayed on... a couple of days later my dash's battery light would turn on-off (on-off intermittently) but no charging issues, now it's my instruments (same, off-on intermittently). I'm driving and suddenly the whole dash loses power, my tach, speedometer, all gauges, and dash lights turn off
then on again... as this is happening I can hear a clicking sound behind the dash... my fan, on-off as well... It seems to be getting worse with each day. Mechanically, my truck runs the same and not affected by electrical issues.
Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this problem, or, anyone having a similar problem? I would really appreciate some feedback
The top of the cluster has two large wire connections. While looking at the cluster face, a loose wire(s) in the connector on the left can cause your issue. The clicking sound is the power going in and out to the cluster. Try unplugging the connector and re-connecting. It has a swing-type lock on it, so make sure it locks tight.
