I have had for the past 6 years a sport trac. But thinking ahead.
I am really liking the super crew limited short bed. I also interested in the 6.2L.
I have a bunch of questions but I'll start with the basics.
How many speeds in transmissions of these years? Were there transmission options? If so is there one or more to stay away from?
How is the 6.2L engine. Aside form the gas consumption were there issues with it that would suggest staying away from it?
What does the Limited option give you that the other options don't give you?
How were the 2013 or 2014 trucks. Any major issues or flaws?
Thanks in advance.
I have a 2013 CREW short bed with the 3.5 Turbo.... the transmissions are all 6 speed Auto. Mine is a Lariat with most of the options.. I LOVE IT..... Drives a lot better than my 2002 CREW, and a lot more INTERNAL room.
If you can find a 6.2 get it, I love mine and I have over 90,000 miles on it. BTW in my 2 wheel drive it will get 18 MPG if you take it easy and 16 MPG doing 70
My first thought is that Google is your friend. Not trying to be the Search Police or anything, but a lot of the answers to the questions you asked can be answered with some quick research online. Here's a link to the brochure for the 2011 F150, you can see specs and option packages towards the end of the document.
When I was looking for a truck, I would get on line in the evening and go to car shopper and auto trader ( or whatever they are) and type in what I wanted ( year / color/ cab style / motor and see what was available within 120 miles.......... then sent a couple e-mails to get additional info.
Cargurus, Autotrader, Cars.com and Carfax. If you are looking for a 6.2 on Cargurus at least you can look for a V8 and Gasoline should bring up 6.2 since they are not flex fuel.
I have a 2013 F150 with the 6.2. 85k. Wonderful engine. Tows very very good. Love the truck, and Im planning to keep this truck for a very long time. They are somewhat rare and the 6.2 was a 2400 dollar option. My truck also has max tow... Ive gotten 16 mpg, which is very good.
I absolutely love my ‘11 Limited 6.2 very minor issues over the last 5 years and all the issues have been problems that effect all F150s of the year range (multifunction switch, blower motor, blower motor resistor, and blend door actuator). The drivetrain is FANTASTIC!
