So I finally got around to the relay headlight harness install...but it doesn't "plug" in to my existing harness. Is this common? Here's the two plugs, the original and the new relay one. Did I somehow get the wrong one or is my pickup all fubar?
That looks like it should plug into one of the original headlight bulb plugs, without seeing a diagram of the relay kit wiring that's my guess anyways.
I your second pic is the OEM 4 pin connection. This connection remains connected as is. The new harness has three 3 spade connectors, one male two female. Disconnect the bulb passenger side of the truck, I believe, and plug the male & one female to that location. The other 3 blade female connection plugs into the driverside bulb.
Ok so I misunderstood the directions I take it. The plugging goes on at the light for both. Seems odd but when I get back home from picking my wife and newborn up from the hospital I'll take another look. Thanks for the replies
Yes. Congrats. You probably want to wait until your wife and newborn are both asleep. And make sure you can hear your wife if she calls for you. If this is your first, this is your real project. Worth every minute and dime. Good luck to you.
