I have my 2019 F350 CCSB King Ranch ultimate for around 6 weeks now. My wife and I were talking about getting the Ford ESP 8/100(We drive maybe 12k per year on this vehicle). From my understanding, we can purchase the ESP anytime before 12 month or 12000 miles without a change in price. Is that correct? If so we will wait until after the summer is over, as we are just going to pay for it, and we ordered a new Ocean fishing boat so want to keep cash on hand for any new electronics, etc.
What kind of boat? I owned a 24 foot Sea Sport when we lived there. Fished often out of Homer, Seward, and Whittier.
Bought a Hewescraft Pacific Explorer 26. Wife wanted head, galley and to be able to sleep 4. Put twin Yamaha 200's on it. Will primarily go out of Whittier or seward. We are new to boat ownership up here. So if you don't mind sharing any good fishing grounds I would appreciate it. I know the charters can get angry if we just follow them so don't want to just do that.
I don’t have any GPS coordinates handy. We never did very good for Halibut out of Whittier but we caught a lot of shrimp.
Seward, get out of the bay and go left towards Montaque or right towards Beehive Island and Pony Cove. We caught a couple of 100+ pound Halibut near Beehive. Anchor and wait. Only way to learn is to watch other boats or try until you succeed. Seward was always best for Silvers. Buy a pair of electric downriggers when you get a chance.
Homer was always best for Halibut. Seems you either drive your truck or drive the boat a long ways to get into good fishing.
Good luck. We usually did better jigging for halibut over using bait, especially if we drifted.
PS: Nice boat! Now break out another $5-10k for all the tackle and accessories

Wow, what a beautiful boat you got. I've never been big on boats, but that makes a bit of sense being from the interior. Still, always had a lot of fun running the Delta Clearwater with my dad.
Hope you get to make lots of great memories with the new boat. Congrats.
