Off Road light on your brick

I’m thinking about adding some led off road light to my brick, nothing over the top just something to supplement. I was curious as to what you guys have done on yours.

Funny you mention it, as I am getting closer to doing the same thing, Unfortunately, I cannot afford the offerings Rigid has available...

Here is what I have planned.

Front Spots:
Amazon Amazon

Front Fill:
Amazon Amazon

Rear Back-up/Work:
Amazon Amazon

Unfortunately, it'll be a bit before I get them ordered and installed, and even longer before I will need them.
Once summer hits up here, there is not much use for additional lighting, as it is pretty light most of the time.

I can’t justify ridged either. I’ve ran auxbeam on a couple other trucks, are they as good as ridged; no but they work for me. I’m looking at about the same set up as you.

I made a bracket and hung a few pod lights from the license plate. Got the idea from a $30 amazon product made the bracket myself for $11. Not great for serious off-roading but works well for gravel and off camber back roads.

Nice! I once made a bracket to hang two small driving light on either side of the license plate but I really like the two under the plate! Might be stealing that idea

Post 66.

Mounted them straight to the bumper.

I went with the Rough Country lights.
They are pretty good.

I put this on my 93 and a 10 watt LED flood light on an "L" bracket so it sticks up just above my cross bed toolbox in back. Tool box opens on the ends, the whole lid doesn't flip up)

How about some KC or Hella period correct looking lights instead of the modern bars and pods? Seems no one does this anymore even though it looks so much better.

I agree about more period correct lights. I hate seeing an LED bar on an old pickup.

Yeah, Looks so much better and works great. Doesn't have to cost a lot either. Edited post above with pic.

I think people just want the lumens, and aren't too concerned with the looks. Function over form. LEDs do open up many options that weren't available before.

I'm not completely anti LED. I do think they work great for many things like tail lights and stuff like that. I'm sure the bars work great off road but look like a complete after thought slapped on. They look better on brand new Jeeps etc.

Real KC Daylighters produce a ton of light esp with the upgrade bulbs and I bet a farther throw than the LED.

I whole heartily agree on the period correct look. I’ve been searching for a long time to find a bumper thumper, that is my first choice. All I can fine are beat up or rusted beyond repair. I’m not nessaserly looking to add a light bar but maybe some 4x6 or 3x5 led lights I could put a kc cover over and have the best of both worlds.

I went with the LED light bar I did simply for the light output. I don't need a huge light bar as I do not do a bunch off off roading but rather being an electrician there are times I need to light up an area with as much light as I can get within reason so I can see what I am doing in the dark (think new construction disconnect and xformer hook ups to power temporary power panels on a jobsite like a school construction)
We at times start well before the chickens are up and in all kinds of weather. As mentioned before, in my case it is function over form. Plus it is connected to a secondary battery I installed along with a battery isolator the amp draw is low and i don't have to worry about burning gas to get plenty of light or draining my starting battery while running the light for extended periods of time.
