changed plugs + fuel filter
The tips on this Website including the article about changing plugs on the V-8 and V-6 were very helpful.
Here are a few additional tips:
Use a plug socket with a swivel. It helps to fit the socket and extension into the holes on the back of the engine.
Be aware that the plugs are in very deep holes in the heads. You will need an extension or 2.
You must have compressed air to blow debris out of the holes leading to the plugs before removing the plugs.
Use and inspection mirror to make SURE you have removed all debris from the holes before removing the plugs. (At least on the rear holes).
Removing the coils is easier then you may think. Just remove one screw and they pull right off.
With the new plugs installed, I noticed a big difference in pinging. These last 20,000 miles I have had to use mid-grade fuel to avoid pinging. Now I can run regular again.
I had developed an occasional miss at low RPM at about 99,000 miles and it is gone now.
I am glad that I did this job myself. I would not have trusted most shops to be so careful about removing the debris from the holes thoroughly before removing the plugs.
I hope this information is helpful to others.
