Trailering an excursion ?

anyone ever use a rental trailer service to trailer an excursion? Something like a u haul car trailer.

I tried looking on their site but it doesn’t look favourable. Just wondering if it’s a weight issue where the trailer isn’t rated high enough?

looking to move one 1600 or so miles.

Tks

Went through the same thing a while back. Never found one so I had it shipped. I think it was around 400$ for a 550 mile trip. The 7.3 4x4 is a heavy beast so I probably broke even or better not having the rental fee, fuel, and hassle.

I looked into this as well, IIRC U-Haul car trailers are too short

You'd need to get a heavy equipment trailer in terms of what you'd be able to rent.

you could also flat-tow it. The rear axle shafts and front 4x4 hubs can be removed without taking the wheels off, to make a redneck-rigged neutral tow mode... There's plenty of tow bars to pull superduties.

Will a tow dolly not work? You could load the rear wheels on it, which is what you want to do anyways...unless the transmission is already no good.

A tow dolly may be too narrow. An 8000lb EX will need a big truck and heavy duty trailer.

You'll need to ship it or flat tow it with a tow bar. None of the long distance rental companies offer anything large enough to be able to haul it.
