18 inches from the cyclone bomb was no match for the EX. the ice that was left over 2 days later had me stuck in my own driveway with a trailer on the hitch!
what's up with the 4WD? I get stuck, manually lock the hubs, and nothing happens. 4WD doesn't engage when your spinning wheels? Only after you roll a few feet?
I’m about to put the new springs on, remove the lift blocks, and keep the factory blocks, but I realized that I might need some axel shims to keep the pinion at the correct angle. Is this something I should be worrying about with a 4” lift on something as big as an Excursion? 2* shims? Anything I should watch out for? I’m getting conflicting info from other threads.
yes you need a 2* shim between the axle and the springs to correct the driveline to pinion shaft angle.
these are the ones you want. You may also need a longer spring center pin since these must be bolted into the spring pack.
( I had to drill the hole in mine larger because my sprints use a larger center pin ) https://www.wfoconcepts.com/pr/2-Deg...3225/4384/4391
Post a pic of your rear driveline showing the transfer case end.
there are 2 types of drive shafts, the 2* shim is for the style that uses a single ujoint at both ends.
