Does anyone know if there is a way to eliminate the AM channels from the source? I hate when I hit the media button on my steering wheel and have to hit the extra couple times to get thru AM channels.
Mike...line 40 removes Sirius from the Media button. It didn't say if a different value would remove a different media selection. But even that is pretty cool...not that I would remove my Sirius, but still. Line 39 removes the CD player. But I didn't see anything else.
This has been a longstanding issue that Ford doesn't seem to care about addressing. Many of us have had the problem since the most recent software update (18093). If you've been listening to satellite or FM and the radio is on when the truck is turned off it will revert to some random station and band that you were not listening to.
My solution is to try to remember to shut the head unit down before you shut the truck off. Then when you restart the truck and turn on your audio it will be where you left it last.

I don't believe the OP is referring to this. He just wants to remove AM from the cycling of the media button. And I've never heard of this issue. Not saying it isn't one, I just haven't heard of it until now.

Upon further review, I'd have to agree with you. But really? One more button push to cruise past AM is going to ruin a guy's day?
To me the touch screen is easily with reach. I just use that to toggle between satellite/FM and to change stations.
I no longer listen to either AM or FM (on the stereo, I do on the ham radio) so I just unscrewed the antenna and put it in the cargo bin under the back seat. If there's some national disaster or road weather thing where I need it, I can screw it back in. The result is that there is a barely audible hiss when the stupid myopic stereo insists on starting with AM instead of starting with what I left it with.
