So my truck is a 68 f250 the previous owner swapped Dana 60s out of a 79 into. I do not like the angle of the front u bolts and started installing A ubolt flip kit but now steering is getting to be a pain due to the highboy frame... So is this normal? I do not have a dentside 4x4 to go look at.

Reason: Words
I don’t have any experience with a highboy frame, but crossover steering, with a new arm on the pass side, might solve the problems. Plus it works ALOT better than stock. I don’t have pics right now, but can take some.

I agree but I am spending a lot on the truck and trying to put some things off till later. Highboy frames have less Arch and I do not want to lift it more so I have to watch clearance when the front suspension is at full compression. I need a pitman arm that is almost flat to do crossover which I have not found yet.
So for now I just bent the spindle arm just enough to clear. Should work for a while. Thanks for the feedback!
I think a D60 steering arm spacer block can be sourced easy enough? Did you notch your axle webbing or drill a hole for the inboard u bolt? I can't quite see in the pic. Nice looking frame boxing and cross member fab work. As you now see with the shackle flip comes other clearance issues.
Makes sense that the leaf spring upper plates were for the 68. I assumed the PO swapped them because he swapped the lower u bolt adapters.
I looked at spacer but they were not to cheap.
I think I am going to spring for crossover. I am working on installing a track bar and really should have they steering to make sure I get them parallel. I can buy everything for a couple hundred. It might get interesting since I do not have much room and don't want more lift. Truck is suppose to have 2" but it may just be at stock height.
Drivability is a big concern for me so I am going to have to get a sway bar stuffed in there too...
I have had to hack the crap out of the frame for a motor swap so I am trying to make sure it is beefed up to be as strong if not stronger than original.
As far as the U bolts being at an angle, that's the way they are, nothing wrong with it. All of them, even the 44 use the same plates and are at a angle just like yours.
