oil consumption

Hey guys I need help with a problem I'm having with my '91 aerostar. The problem is that about 2-3 weeks I have to add about a quart of oil but there are no leaks that I've found and there is no smoke of any kind from the exhaust. So whats the deal why am I losing oil? All ideas will be appreciated as well as any help. Thanks,

What engine? How long has this oil disappearnace been going on? Is the oil pan, engine block, or tranny wet with oil? Any loss of power?

The engine is a 3.0 and nothing is wet with oil. This has been on going for about 6-8 months Thanks.

In 2 -3 weeks of driving how many miles does this total. Since you have no leaks detected, sounds like a bad valve seat or a bad ring. You probably won't see any blue exhaust yet. The problem however will get worse gradually and then you will eventually see it.

My 91 Aerostar XLT does the same thing. I do however have residue and slow drips but I have to put a litre of oil in every week or so. Makes it good for an oil change though!
