does anyone know if 93ish f150 window motors would fit in my 93 bronco? the motor is weak on the driver side. i also need a spare tire lock and the 'key', preferably one from a bronco.
thanks, wb
F-series and Bronco components are (for the most part) interchangable. The window motor will work. Heck, the whole door will work. When you say tire lock? Are you referring to a locking lug to prevent theft on each wheel? They are available from most parts stores. Always bugged me though that I need five locking lugs for the Bronco instead of four. So I ended up with eight and three are spares.
yes, i am refering to the anti-theft one. i recently had the lock that came on spare removed b/c i don't have the 'key'. i have seen those in auto zone and advance autoparts, but i don't want one from there b/c then anyone can visit those stores and have at my tire. also, i know some pranksters that would buy that and borrow my tire for awhile. thanks for the f150 info. -wb
(what's the stat on grey's replacement)

I hear you on that one. I actually have two different locks on the spareand one on the rest of the wheels. Currently, Greystreak's replacement is doing just fine. She has inhereted the step bars, front and rear bumpers and clear turn signal lenses. Going to wait til spring to do the suspension and such...gives me all winter to rebuild Greystreak's axles with an LS in front and locker in the rear. Will be looking for a good home for a three y/o E4OD and 302 eventually.
awesome, did they catch the punks yet? i assume that means u are taking out the 302 and putting in some power? is the E4OD the so called 'heavy duty' bronco tranny? the shop said i had the 'heavy duty' tranny on mine, when i had it overhauled a couple of weeks ago. -wb

if u think no one pays u any attention- try not paying your bills for awhile
Yeah, they caught the SOB. 56 y/o addict swiping CD's and stereos and torching them to "hide the evidence" Thats why they are called STUPID criminals. Actually, I will be doing some major performance work to the 302 thats in the new one but I have no need for the 302 from Greystreak and its only 2 years old (35k miles). Not sure on the "heavy-duty" part but Greystreak had the tow package and the Supercool option so a tranny cooler and four core radiator. Almost dropped my teeth when I saw the radiator in the new one.....only two core?! Ah well. May swap the bigger radiator and tranny cooler into the new one as well.
yeah, the shop said the tranny i have is the 'biggest and most durable' tranny offered in big broncos. i take it a 4 core radiator is better than 2? what mods are u doing to the 302? i have a friend w/ a 302 in his temporarily out of service bronco, and he always complained about how slow it was. -wb

There is no replacement for displacement.
The plan right now is to swap in my Bassani shortie headers and exhaust system. After which I think I'm gonna run the Edelbrock intake for the EFI truck 302 with the 56mm throttle body (might swing the 61mm if I have the money to port match the intake). Finally, some sort of cold air intake. I have always disliked the rather round-about routing of the stock airbox and intake plumbing. Have toyed with the idea of something straight down through the hood but haven't really sat down to brainstorm yet. Not planning on tearing any further into it...it runs too well now to mess with it. I might do a head swap but again, just depends on the finacial situation. I realize those are mostly bolt-on projects but I need her for my daily driver so down time is a big concern.
The 4 core radiator just has a greater cooling capacity. More surface area = more coolant actually having heat drawn from it at once. Same reason for the tranny cooler. Get the fluid cooled off... spare the tranny the excess heat.
greystreak,
how much did the shortie headers set (intial purchase and w/ labor bill) you back and what kind of difference did they make? they sound Xpensive. may i ask what u plan to do w/ the ford logo on gs's tailgate? it'd make a sweet belt buckle. headers are what i plan to do next on my 351 (windsor i think), followed by a billet grille. i also plan to post more pics as well in my gallery, once i finish the roll. -wb
I think the headers were about $350-$375. I am not 100% certain as I bought the entire system at once. The total on it with shipping was $995 or somthing like that. I know it was just under a grand. I installed them myself with a friend and my brother so the labor bill was a 12 of Budweiser. Bought the whole thing from a Ford dealer in Houston....Tommy Vaughn Ford if I recall correctly.
GS's Blue Oval from the Tailgate will be finding a home in or on the new one I think. The aluminum panel on the new one is a littel discolored from age and the elements. If polishing it doesn't help, I may just swap the whole thing out. Best stuff I've found for that kind of polishing though are the products of The English Custom Polish Company. Fabulous stuff and considering how little of it gets used at a time, well worth the $10-15 a bottle.
