That's the rub with leveling a truck made for towing. IMO, if you tow, leave the leveling kits off and for that matter, lift kits in general. Just my .02.
the lift was on when I got it but I probably would have ended up putting one on anyway. My 03 250 was a 3” lift I never got the kind of sag out of it like this one. That’s why I feel that the springs are soft.
Gotcha. The front being up, means that the rear has to be higher and maintain the rake that was set from the factory which can create issues with towing height, but you know this already. The rear springs could be soft and it looks like there are some options other than replacement like the helwig setup. That said, a call to SD springs or other vendor could probably help once they know the spring you have now, what weights you tow and then provide a recommendation for a stiffer setup. I still like having bags for some flexibility in towing weights and keeping a softer ride unloaded so, give that some thought and research too.
Your springs are not “soft” your bed is just heavy.
one way or another you need to increase your spring rate to accomadate the additional payload of the bed.
since your bed is now a permanent payload you could get a new spring with the spring rate to accomadate the new curb weight. Or get an adjustable air spring that will accomadate the new curb weight plus and additional payload.
ATS Springs has done quite a few of our guys here right, including me. If you call them and tell them where you're at weight wise and where you want to go they will hook you up with the right setup. I believe that one of our members in AK even had a set shipped up to him.
V have a spring rate of 430 lbs inch with a capacity of 2600 lbs
B have a spring rate of 330 primary, 830 overload , 1200 combined with a capacity of 3000

I had the same rears and went with the 43-1263 from ATS...3300lbs each.
"...Here is my (dually) setup with factory stock springs + torklift stable loads & hellwig add-on overloads:"
X2 on the torkllift stable load bump stop extensions, to take advantage of the factory overload spring that's already there. I used them and 50psi in Firestone ride rite airbags to level my truck with the 5000lb camper and the boat on the superhitch. Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks helped here too, though I'd probably go Bilsteins next time and skip the adjustability.

Talk to Junior. He's the one that helped me figure out what I needed.
If your handy with a wrench go grab a rear leaf pack out of a 1 ton from a salvage yard or CL. Take the top leaf out, cut off the eye's and add it just under your top main leaf. You will be surprised at how much extra carrying capacity that will give you plus won't hurt your ride quality. You will have extra leafs to further adjust ride height and or load carrying ability.
Looks like you have room to add at least 1 leaf with your U-bolts. You will need 2 longer center bolts for the leaf packs as well. I have added more leaves like this over the years than I can count.
You can also add/adjust your overload pack if needed.

that sounds like a plan. I think I saw that ATS sells just a top leaf on their site that I want to say was around $80. Thanks
