AACA Winter Meet
2nd was seeing Jim Schmidts collection of 200+ cars located in the NPD part warehouse . Spectacular !!!!!! He has a '70 FORD truck w. 395 mi. on it & a '69 or '70 Torino w/ 13.8 mi. on it . This is the type he collects .
3rd was being a part of a National show. A first for us . All of the vehicles from the east of the Ms. river & Tx. were pristine examples . Unbelievable iron !!!!. So very honored to be a part of it .
4th & most humbling was to be awarded the First Junior award . This is what is received at your first National show . As the pres. of the AACA was handing it to me he included his business card & said I need to contact West Peterson who is the exec editor of the Antique Automobile Magazine ( the official publication of the AACA ) who would like to do a story / history of the truck for the mag . I was stunned !!! On the way down the elevator Sun . morning some man who is in the upper ranks of the AACA said "Good morning Mr. Truck " Didn"
t even know who he was . So may have given me a new AACA nickname .
