Flanneljunkie, how tall do they grow them in Fairbanks? I can barely see the bottom of the bed much less pick-up anything on the floor. I kind of look like that cartoon character that only shows the top of his head and eyes looking over something.

Sounds like you got it figured out, which is awesome. I'm with you on the bed liner ... it's cheaper around here to have Ford do it, so I went that route. I also agree with your opening statement about the 6R140. I needed a truck now, so I couldn't opt to wait for 2020. But, even if I could have waited, I would have jumped at the "last call" in 2019 for the 6R140.

BTW, your pdf had the x-plan pricing. Check to see if you can get a dealer to beat that. My Ford dealer next to my house wouldn't budge. I drove 32 miles to the next one who beat x-plan by $1,200 OTD.

I'm tall and lanky. Don't get me wrong, it's still a reach, but I feel more comfortable reaching from the ground than I do standing on the extended running boards. It's like I'm too tall when on the boards, which means I have to bend over more to get what I want.

Unfortunately, the only other dealer in the state is 350 miles away and one that I refuse to patron. I'm happy with x-plan pricing, and my dealer and I have a good rapport.

Well, I did it. Order has been placed. I ended up adding the front wheel well liners and changing the OWL tires to BSW.

I appreciate everyone's input. I've thought long and hard about how I used my trucks over the years, and I think I'll be very happy with this build.

Now comes the waiting game.

Shift on the fly or floor lever?

Am I old school or what? because I just like the feel of a lever rather than the **** for 4x4. And I like the idea of linkage shifting positively into 4x rather than some kind of electric... thermal... or what ever kind of switch.

I really wanted the floor lever for the transfer case, but in the end the console won out. The jump seat is a horrible design in my opinion and I hated using it as a console in my last f350 with the floor shifter. Life is full of compromise, and this was one of those cases.

Maybe look out or ask about a "PCO" (Private Cash Offer) $2500!
What is the "PCO" (Private Cash Offer)? Different from a normal rebate? Available with "A Plan" pricing?
