My '77 150 is a factory A/C truck, them chipmunks have nested in my plenum under the dash. Every time I turn the heat on their nests blows out on my feet....... Driving me crazy. Has anyone ever put some kind of cage or screen over the air intake for the plenum on the right kick panel? I don't want to burn the fan motor out trying to pull air in. I would like to do something before the spring fever catches and they use my truck as a chipmunk brothel.....gross
I hear that they hate the smell of Irish Spring soap and clothes dryer sheets? Can you shave up a bar of soap and put it in a bowl on the truck floor holding down a couple of dryer sheets?
Thought about something like that, but there is still the possibility of them getting in. I am going to check out some screen material at homedesperate and see what I can ponder up. I will look for something with a larger space than the standard window screen but smaller than a chicken wire.
Check out some 14 or 16 gauge 1/2" X 1/2" galvanized wire mesh. Home Depot/Lowe's or any Farm and Ranch store should have it. Not sure if you have "Farm and Ranch" stores in NJ?
