6.8 electrical problem?

6.8 electrical problem?
So I have a 2001 f250 with a 6.8 with a manual transmission. The truck has been hiccuping while accelerating and when it does it the radio also cuts out some like it's loosing power, it doesn't turn off just hiccups too , I feel like I can also hear the HVAC surgibg when it happens. I installed a plow on the truck this season , new plugs and coils a few months ago when water was getting into the head and causing a misfire , alternator was replace last week when the problem really started getting bad. But it didn't help. I've check the ground to the motor and to the frame and both look good. Also I've unhooked the power to the plow and it didn't change anything . The truck has never thrown any codes . It seems like the problem is getting worse the longer it goes on .the radio is hiccuping while idling. The radio doesn't seem affected if I rev the motor or if I have the truck off and the ignition on accessory. Thanks for reading and any help is greatly appreciated

I'd focus on the stability (and correctness) for the power system and the charging system. Just because you installed a replacement alternator very recently does not mean the system is working correctly. When the battery supply is unstable or low, some of the electronic stuff like the radio and the PCM can get real flaky. You might see about getting one of those voltmeters that plug into the cigar lighter so you can easily monitor the electrical supply.

projectSHO89 brings up a good point. Many times when an alternator goes bad it takes too long for people to realize it. As a result the battery can get damaged from deep discharges or bad voltage. Do you know the condition of the battery?

Ok so I went and got the battery tested again and it tested good. I'm going to look at all the ground cables now . One thing I did notice when I was driving it today and trying to make it hiccup there was a clicking sound coming from behind the dash near the headlight **** .
Edit . All the grounds look good to me . Could the clicking be from one of my relays going bad ?

yes sir . it only did it when it hiccuped and only a few times it wasnt constant . it seems to hiccup most when i have it at low rpms around 2000

I've heard that clicking noise twice now. Both times my alternator had gone out and I was basically coasting into the driveway on a near dead battery.
To me, that noise is related to a voltage issue and seems to come from behind the instrument cluster. At the same time all the gauges were acting very erratic also.

Yeah it definitely seems like something is drawing to much power and creating a voltage drop . Before I had replaced the alternator , I was plowing o e night and had the inverter on I have in my truck and while pressing the plow controller . There was such a drop that the low voltage alert on the inverter went sounded. I have removed anything I have added that's electrical so it shouldn't be the plow that's causing it . I was reading on some other threads about the gem going g bad from water dripping from the windshield or cab lights. Do you think that could have something to do with the gem?

12.49 truck off. Down to 9.9 on start up. 11.31 using plow 14.31 driving - 13.5 lowest while pulling into home Depot 3rd gear very low rpms . 13.5 when I left truck, 12.4 when I got back in minutes later. Thanks for the help.

Before you start the truck the battery voltage should be around 12-12.5, once started and running it should be around 13.8. I had radio issues, dash light issues because the wire for the OD switch from the shifter was loose.
