Air conditioning

So I just saw Vintage air is making an air conditioning kit for trucks that uses the original controls. Does anyone have experience with it yet? I have had good luck with vintage air in the past and may consider this kit.

Just for comparison has anyone used the LMC, classic auto air, or nostalgic kits and how did they like them?

If I missed a brand let me know!

Did a quick check on their website. It's their typical system, but uses some "cable converters" to enable using the stock controls on the dash to operate their controls. Nifty idea.
I've installed a couple of their behind dash units. Worked well. I also installed a generic underdash system from a place in Texas. Still working well.

Who's running Vintage Air?”

The CEO? Board of Directors? CEO’s wife?.

Finished my Vintage Air install a couple of weeks ago. Took my time over the course of about 2 months...getting the original AC unit out...POR15 the floors, ordering super thin insulation, routing/sheathing wires just how I like them, etc, etc... Not the hardest install, but not the easiest either - specifically shoe-horning the inside unit into place and routing the rubber lines to it. If you take your time, it'll go smoothly. If on a mission, it's possible to get done in a week or 2 weekends, perhaps. Making sure I got the proper PS bracket and belts to double belt the compressor (not necessary) also added time to my install. Got an Amazon vacuum pump/gauge kit and taught myself how to do the evac and freon fill. Lucky enough to get my connections right the first time and had no leaks. 100 degrees down here in South Fla and AC pumps out cold air in the low 50's. The kit is expensive. Worth it? Works now and let's see how it holds up before I can answer that...

I installed a VA system in my 70 back in May. It has the converted stock control panel. No problems so far, cools well. Heater and defroster also work, though I haven't had much need for either so far.
