You need to re-read my post. I said once you go past the 502A Lariat, halogens are no longer a choice. LED's are standard equipment on the 502A Lariat and up.
Two questions that inquiring minds would like to know......
(1) If the OEM LED headlights were a standalone option and could be added to any trim level, how much would you guys be willing to pay for them and please, be realistic.
(2) Knowing the cost of replacement OEM LED headlights and if they were standard across every trim level, but there was an option to go with halogens for no charge or even a discount of $500.00 dollars, how many of you would opt for the halogens.
1) In reality, probably no more than a $500 option.
2) Knowing that they run about $1300 ea, I'd most likely take the $500 discount and opt for Halogens. It's not like they are candles in a reflective case.

The DOT standards for vehicle lighting limit the light output of DOT approved OEM headlamps regardless of how that light is created. In Europe they have laser excited phosphor headlamps that are far superior to what we are allowed. Don't hold your breath. It essentially comes down to lamp and reflector design that affects how much light our headlights emit and where it goes on the road ahead. Given well designed headlamps they're all about equal. And before someone starts explaining how they replaced their headlights with the latest and greatest nuclear powered projector beams that light up 10 miles of road ahead notice that I said DOT approved.
P.S. The reason the dealer had to replace both of my LED headlamp assemblies had nothing to do with the LED's. Both headlamp covers had developed hundreds of tiny cracks across the entire clear cover after only 18 months.

Well, I'm in an XLT and about the only things a Lariat has to offer that I would like is the auto dual zone HVAC, memory seats and the upgraded stereo. I'd still want the shifter on the steering column with the console.

I have old eyes and my night vision isn't what it once was. That said, I can see the road just fine with my halogens. It's the oncoming traffic with the above mentioned headlights I can't tolerate.

LOL.....Man I hear you on having my seat moved. When I took my truck in for the APIM, either the tech or the service writer moved my seat and steering wheel and I swear it took me over a month to get it back to just the way I like it.

YES!!!! Without the memory you get it close. But then you are constantly making small adjustments until you get it right again. Only to find you are running thru the car wash and the process starts all over.......

Yep. About 18 or 20 other features in the 502A package that made it worth it to me. I'm certainly not rolling in money but I am at the stage in my life where if I want something, I'm willing to pay for it. Never seen a Brinks truck following a hearse.
