I been using this one for the past week and it works as intended for an outdoor, mechanical timer. I set it for 3 hours to turn on before I need to start the truck in the morning. $14 on Amazon. 15 amp rating.
If you watch that video I did you can see how quickly the block heater work....the first hour is a huge increase in temps and then it slows down from there. 3 hours is about where the block heater gets to max temp increases and just wasting money after that.

Thinking about a timer for mine, I do t really need it where ee live, but it would make the DW happy to have the truck warm up quicker on our chilly 50 degree mornings. Lol.
