Rear Shocks Leaking

I took my '18 Limited to the dealer last week for an oil change and tire rotation. While rotating the tires they found both rear shocks were leaking oil. When they went to order them they saw that they are on backorder until March. These are the first shocks they've replaced on the new Expeditions. I only have 6500 miles on it so they should hardly be worn out.

That's good, although it's unfortunate you have to wait until March to have them changed.

Just changing the oil on my '18 Expedition at 15,000 miles, and noticed the front left & rear right shocks are leaking.

It's my wife's car, and has never been off road or towed or anything extreme -- so a little surprised by the failure.

I'd guess they got some bad parts.

Our 2018 Expedition Max 2wd with tow package needs at least 1 shock at every oil change. Flat / smooth Florida roads & has not towed anything. The shocks & struts used on these are JUNK!

The Expedition is still under warranty so they keep installing the same junk. I sure hope our ordered 2020 has better shocks.

I'd still be pissed because it keeps taking up time out of your day every time they have to change one.

‘That’s a big reason why we are trading the 2018 off so soon. Love the vehicle otherwise.

3 / 36 unless you purchased an extended warranty.

I’m not aware of an aftermarket strut for the CCD suspension we have. My previous 2018 Expedition did have a few aftermarket struts available but was not a CCD suspension.

Are you trading it for the single reason of the shock problem?
