Are Motorcraft reman steering pumps OK?

Are Motorcraft reman steering pumps OK?
The PS pump in my 2002 Escape 2.0L has just let go. Looking around, nobody sells brand-new any more, even the Motorcraft ones are reman.

Is it worth paying the extra for a Motorcraft reman unit over, say, an A1 Cardone?
