I am in the midst of swapping out the grille on my 71 for a metal grille from a 68.
One of the attachment points, I am a little confused by are the upper corners.
Are these meant to pull the grille brace against the fender or are they meant to pull the grille against the brace. I am hoping I am making sense. In other words does the back of the fast nut point to the front of the truck or to the back of the truck.
Might seem silly, not very technical question, but it is something that would help as I try to get back into working on the "forever" project.
Been awhile, but is there a hole in the fender behind it also? Then I would assume the clip goes on the back side of the fender so the bolt holds the grille to the core support and the fender.
Going to agree with Freightrain. The headlight bezel should cover it up nice.
the bezel will cover it up. that I verified. just need to revisit how to get the clip in place on the fender. Seems like when I initially removed this bolt it come off from the inside of the fenderwell and resulted in much cussing and scraped knuckles. It would make more sense if it was accessed from the grille side.
