1972 e100 camper

I’ve got a 1972 ford econoline that I have done up as a camper. Has the 240 with 3 on the tree. Just wondering what other people’s set ups are on these models. I’m debating to keep the drive train stock or change it out. The van is heavy when filled with gear and my clutch slips on steep inclines in first gear. Is there a good clutch option to prevent this? Or a better drivetrain set up for these old vans?
Mid anyone has any good sites with info on these vans let me know. Thanks.

You should stall your engine before your clutch slips. Either the clutch is not adjusted correctly, or it needs replacement.

Yea ok. I’ll pull it apart and see what I can find. Has anyone done a trans swap on these? Another gear or two would be nice.

The shifter is the problem with any other trans. You'd have stick right in the middle of the cargo area. An AOD automatic would be one "solution". Not a cheap solution...
