Putting shocks on my 2019 F250 today and realize that the vent tube for the front differential was kind of flopping around. I can tell that mounts on top of the shock stud but not sure which way the actual event should go. Can someone shoot me a pic if they don't mind? My truck is a 6.2, probably makes a difference.
It seems to me that by removing the "bend" of the hose between the clip that holds the three hoses and the breather fitting you're more likely to have a problem. With the straight shot if the axle flexes down too far it could pull the hose off the fitting. Or is there just not that much flex in the axle?
Extend the tubing up into the engine bay nice and high. Way better in event of high water crossing. And away from road spray.
HECK YES!!!!!! Few years ago had to drive through some flooded areas in west Texas on the way to NM and water got sucked in through the vent tubes. I was lucky because I caught it right away by luck! When I got home the next week had service done and water came out of the front dif, rear dif and the transfer case! Ran all of the vent lines up to the fuel cap area on the backside. This was a Ram Cummins not a Ford but if the vent tubes are not kept out of the water it will ingress...
